# Can I use a gift card across multiple venues?

## Question

A guest wants to buy a gift card at one of your venues and spend it at another. Can they use the same gift card across your venues?

## Solution

Yes, but only for venue groups set up with HQ. Multi-venue redemption is an HQ feature, so a standalone venue can't share one gift card's balance across separate venues on its own.

With HQ, you set up multi-venue redemption on the gift card product. Guests can then buy the gift card at one venue and redeem, refund or search it at any venue that has access to that product.

### What to know

- Multi-venue redemption works only across venues that use the same currency. ROLLER prevents the setup if you include venues with different currencies (eg USD and CAD).
- Turning on multi-venue redemption for an existing gift card product applies to its variations automatically. You don't need to reissue or migrate existing cards.
- Multi-venue redemption gives guests more places to spend. It does not transfer funds between venues.
