# Create midnight sessions linked to operating hours

> [!TIP]
> **What you’ll learn in three minutes or less**
>
>
>
> How to set up late-night sessions (running past midnight) so they appear as part of the previous day’s schedule in online checkouts.
>
>
>
> This helps maximize revenue by making it easier for guests to book late-night sessions — reducing friction, increasing conversions and keeping more slots filled after midnight.
>
>
>
> Example: Sessions that run from 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM early Saturday morning will appear in checkouts as starting on Friday night, because it begins right after 11:59 PM Friday.

## Before getting started

Make sure you have all of the following ready to go for the product:

- Set your operating hours in Venue Manager, including closing times past midnight (eg Fridays: 10 AM – 2 AM).
- Create [resources](/v1/docs/edit-venue-resources) to manage capacity for the product.
- Create the [session pass product](/v1/docs/create-your-session-pass-products) or [party package product](/v1/docs/create-your-party-package-products).
- Assign the resources to the product in its product settings.

> [!NOTE]
> All ticket variations must have assigned resources for schedules to be saved and managed correctly..

## How late-night sessions appear in checkouts

When properly configured, sessions starting after midnight are shown as part of the previous day’s schedule, reducing confusion for guests during booking.

## Step 1: Enable after-midnight sessions in checkouts

You'll need to enable after-midnight sessions in the progressive checkout advanced settings. This allows these sessions to show up in checkouts as part of the previous day's late-night sessions.

1. From Venue Manager, go to **Progressive checkouts** > **Settings** > **Advanced**.
2. Select the option to display after midnight sessions in online checkouts.
3. Set the end time for any late-night sessions (eg 2 AM).

## Step 2: Update standard operating hours

If you haven't already, set the standard operating hours for the days you open late (past midnight).

From Venue Manager, go to **Products** > **Schedules.**

1. Select **Operating hours** at the top right.
2. Select the **Standard** **hours** box to edit it. ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/23700755-951c-4b69-8afe-ec8b33c6c689/Images/Documentation/12829234992271.png)
3. Set your late-night/early morning closing times (eg Friday, open until 2 AM). ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/23700755-951c-4b69-8afe-ec8b33c6c689/Images/Documentation/12829219992975.png)

## Step 3: Create a regular schedule, linked to operating hours

1. From Venue Manager, go to **Products** > **Schedules** and select the product you want.
2. Create or edit a regular schedule, including late-night days (eg Friday, Saturday):
  - Ensure “Last session ends at” is linked to the **Closing** **time** in operating hours.
  - For example, if Friday’s operating hours are until 2 AM, guests can book sessions from opening until 2 AM.

> [!NOTE]
> Remove any customized schedules you may have previously created for late-night sessions that are not linked to operating hours.

3. Finalize and check:
  - Make sure the product is added to your online checkout.
  - [Preview the online checkout](/v1/docs/create-your-online-checkout) to see how it appears for guests.

If tickets do not appear as options for guests to select, make sure you've added any new ticket variations you've created to the schedule.
