# Gift Card Sales report

The report shows the number of gift card sales within a selected date range. The date filter is based on the date the transaction was made.

> [!NOTE]
> The [permission](/v1/docs/create-and-manage-staff-roles-and-permissions) **Can access Sales reports** is required for staff to access the Gift Card Sales report. Administrators and managers have this permission enabled by default.

## Filter the report

Select a day, date or date range, then select **Apply** **filters**.

The gift card purchase values and discount values applied to gift card purchases will update accordingly. You can also sort each column in ascending or descending order.

## Detailed data

The columns available are:

- **Purchase Date -** the date for which the sales occurred
- **Quantity -** numbers of gift cards sold
- **Gift Card Value -** the total value of gift cards sold for the selected timeframe by transaction date
- **Discounts** - the total value of gift card discounts applied to gift card purchases, including complimentary amounts issued via POS or by selecting "No payment" when issuing via Venue Manager.

### How does this report differ from viewing gift card sales and redemptions from the product in Venue Manager?

This report is similar to the [View gift cards page](/v1/docs/view-and-export-gift-card-data) in Venue Manager. However, this report allows you to filter to specific dates instead of showing all gift card sales records. It also lets you get the total stored gift card value for that period.
