# How do I add notes to a booking?

Add notes to a booking so your team can review important details like guest requests, dietary needs, setup instructions and more.

## Two note types

There are two types of notes:

- **Booking notes:** can only be seen by staff in Venue Manager.
- **POS notes:** can be seen by staff at both POS and Venue Manager.

Both note types live on the booking's **Details** tab, and you can add them when you create or edit a booking.

## Add notes in Venue Manager

1. From Venue Manager, go to **Bookings** and open the booking you want to add a note to.
2. Select the **Details** tab.
3. Enter your note into the **Booking notes** or **POS notes** field.
4. Select **Save**.

## Add notes at POS

1. From POS, search for and open the booking.
2. In the booking summary panel, select **Add notes**.
3. Enter your note, then save.

Notes you add here are saved as POS notes, so they'll also show against the booking in Venue Manager.

## View notes in the bookings grid

You can review notes in the bookings grid, useful for scanning or exporting notes across bookings.

1. From Venue Manager, go to **Bookings** and select **All bookings**.
2. Right-click the grid, then select the columns you want to add.
3. Add the **Comments** column to show booking notes, or the **POS Notes** column to show POS notes.
