# How do I hide a product from checkout?

Products created in ROLLER can't be deleted, but you don't need to delete one to take it off of a checkout. There are three ways to hide a product, each covering different sales channels so you can stop guests buying a product while keeping its reporting data intact and bringing it back whenever you like.

The right option depends on where you want the product hidden:

- **Archive**: Hides the product from all sales channels (Venue Manager, online checkouts and POS).
- **Hide from online sales**: Hides a product variation from online checkout only, while still sellable at POS and in Venue Manager.
- **Checkout or POS visibility:** Hides the product from one specific channel by removing it from that checkout or POS menu.

All three are fully reversible. Choose the one that matches the channel you want to control, then follow the matching steps below.

## Archive a product

1. From Venue Manager, go to **Products** > **All products**.
2. Find the product you want to hide.
3. Select the **options menu (3 dots)**, then select **Archive**.
4. If the product has variations, choose whether to archive the whole product or just one variation, then select **Archive**.

Once archived, no one can buy the product in Venue Manager, online checkouts or POS. To bring it back, select the **Status** filter, choose **Archived**, then select the **options menu (3 dots)** and select **Unarchive**.

## Hide a product variation from online sales

1. From Venue Manager, go to **Products** > **All products**.
2. Find the product that contains the variation you want to hide.
3. Select the **options menu (3 dots)**, then select **Edit**.
4. Scroll down and select the variation you want to edit.
5. Select **Advanced**.
6. Select **Hide from online sales**.
7. Select **Save**.

## Hide a product from an online checkout

1. From Venue Manager, go to **Apps** > **Progressive checkouts**.
2. Select the checkout you want to edit.
3. Select the **Products** tab.
4. Find the section that contains the product, then select **Edit** on the section card.
5. Open the product selection for that section, deselect the product you want to remove, then select **Apply**.
6. Select **Apply** again, then select **Save**.

## Hide a product from a POS menu

1. From Venue Manager, go to **Apps** > **Point of Sale**.
2. Select **Devices** to update a single device, or **Templates** to update every device linked to a template.
3. Select the device or template you want to edit.
4. From the left-side **Menu**, select the menu that contains the product.
5. Select **Unlock to edit** in the top right to edit menus.
6. Open the product selection, deselect the product you want to remove, then select **Done**.
