# Review bookings before confirming them

Use the unconfirmed booking status when you want staff to review certain bookings before marking them as confirmed.

This can help when bookings need manual follow-up, such as checking party details, confirming guest numbers, or reviewing booking requirements before the visit.

> [!NOTE]
> Bookings with this status still hold resource capacity until the booking occurs or is canceled.

This article explains how to turn the setting on, where to find unconfirmed bookings, and how to mark them as confirmed.

## Turn on booking confirmation required for a product

1. From Venue Manager, go to **Products** > **All products**.
2. Open the product you want to edit.
3. Scroll to **Additional options**.
4. Under **Booking confirmation required**, select **Bookings for this product require guest confirmation**.
5. Select **Save**.

## Find unconfirmed bookings

When a booking includes a product with **Booking confirmation required** turned on, the booking shows an **Unconfirmed** status next to the booking name.

You can see this status in:

- The booking detail view.
- Calendar.
- Daily capacity.

## Mark a booking as confirmed

To mark a booking as confirmed:

1. From Venue Manager, find and open the booking.
2. In the booking detail view, select the **options** **menu** (3 dots) in the top-right corner.
3. Select **Confirm booking**.
4. In the pop-up dialog, select **OK**.

Once confirmed:

- The booking status changes to **Confirmed**.
- The activity stream records that the booking was confirmed.

## What this status does

Use this status to flag bookings that need staff review before they are finalized in your workflow.

For example, staff may want to:

- Review booking details before the visit.
- Contact the booking holder to confirm details.
- Complete internal follow-up before marking the booking as confirmed.

After staff confirm the booking, the booking no longer shows the **Unconfirmed** status.

If the booking is not confirmed, it still keeps the unconfirmed label in the views listed above until staff confirm it, the booking occurs or the booking is canceled.
