# Set up self-serve kiosks for discount codes and gift cards

This guide shows you how to set up a self-serve kiosk device to allow guests to redeem discount codes or gift cards.

## How guests redeem a discount code

1. Select **Apply discount**.
2. Enter a discount code into the pop-up window & click **Add.**
3. If valid, a success message displays. If invalid, an error message displays.

## How guests redeem a gift card

1. Select **Redeem gift card.**
2. Enter the gift card number (or scan the QR code if a scanner is present) and select **Redeem.**
3. If the gift card is valid and has an available balance, a success message displays. If invalid, an error message displays.
