# Why can't I take payments directly on a wireless terminal?

Your wireless card terminal can't take a payment on its own because it's an integrated payment device, not a point of sale. When you take payment in ROLLER POS, the amount is sent to the terminal for the guest to tap, insert or swipe.

Being cable-free changes where you can take a payment, not what the terminal can do on its own.

## How ROLLER Payments terminals work with POS

A card terminal has no way to look up products, apply payment to a booking or record the sale. ROLLER POS does that, then sends the amount to the terminal for the guest to pay.

Completing the sale in ROLLER POS makes sure every payment is recorded against the booking and appears in your reports.
