# Wristband printing FAQs

This guide covers the setup requirements for using wristband printers with ROLLER POS, including supported hardware, configuration steps, and frequently asked questions.

> [!NOTE]
> To print wristbands at your venue, your wristband printers must be using [ROLLER Connect](/v1/docs/install-roller-connect). For more details on setting up ROLLER to work with wristband printers, see the guide [Wristband ticket printing based on end session times from POS](/v1/docs/wristband-ticket-printing-based-on-end-session-times-from-pos)

## 1. Requirements

**Supported printers**

Must be compatible with Windows OS as outlined in the guide [Minimum hardware and operating requirements for ROLLER.](/v1/docs/minimum-hardware-and-operating-requirements-for-roller)

- **Preferred**: Zebra ZD510-HC
- **Also** **supported**: Zebra ZD410

> [!NOTE]
> Other printers may work, but support is not guaranteed. See FAQs below.

**Wristband template size**

- Template dimensions: 1” x 9” to 11” (25 mm x 228 mm to 279 mm)
- Larger paper may leave blank space.
- Smaller paper may cut off important text.

## 2. Wristband template details

**Supported pass types**

- **Supported**: Session passes, including session passes inside packages
- **Not** **supported**: Standard passes

**Printed information**

- Venue logo (configured in Venue Manager)
- Waiver name
- Pass name (not ticket type)
- Session date and start/end time
- QR code with ticket ID for check-in

**Template customization**

- The wristband template is fixed — you cannot add, remove or adjust what’s printed by ROLLER.
- However, you can use custom wristband paper rolls to display your own branding (logos, colors, messages).
- **Design** **tip**: Keep important elements (eg images, text) away from areas where ticket details are printed to avoid overlap and ensure everything remains readable.

## FAQs

**Can I use a printer that is not on the list of supported printers?**

You can, but:

- ROLLER does not provide support
- You must install and test it yourself
- Template alignment and print quality are your responsibility

**Can the wristband ticket template be configured? Can I change what is printed on the wristband?**

No. The template is fixed and cannot be customized or edited.

**Can I print wristband tickets for only specific session products?**

Yes. Wristband printing is enabled per product. You cannot enable or disable printing for specific ticket types within the same product.

Go to the session pass product settings and select the **Alternative** **printer** option, then select **This product uses ticket printers based on session time.** If you don't see this option, reach out to [support](/v1/docs/contact-roller-support) to enable wristband printers for you.

**Can I connect multiple POS computers to the same wristband printer?**

Yes, if the printer model supports shared connections.

**How is wristband printing configured in ROLLER?**

ROLLER prints from POS to a specific wristband printer based on the session’s end time. This applies to all POS devices. Go to **Settings** > **Printers** to set up. [Learn more](/v1/docs/wristband-ticket-printing-based-on-end-session-times-from-pos)

Each session end time must have a printer name configured in Venue Manager for POS to print successfully.

Here is an example that uses different-colored paper for session end times and names them accordingly.

Then, from the session pass ticket in POS, select the print icon to print to the wristband printer.

**Can I connect one POS computer to multiple wristband printers?**

Yes. Each POS can connect to multiple wristband printers. ROLLER will print to the printer assigned in Venue Manager based on the session end time of the ticket.

Note: You cannot assign printers based on product names or resources — only the session end time determines which printer is used.
