# Wristband ticket printing based on end session times from POS

ROLLER supports wristband printing for [session-based tickets](/v1/docs/create-your-session-pass-products) via ROLLER POS. In this guide, you will learn how to configure wristband printing based on end session times in ROLLER POS.

> [!WARNING]
> Wristband printing is currently available for session pass tickets. Cloud printing does not currently support the printing of sticker tickets or wristbands. If your venue uses sticker printers or wristband printers, you can use [ROLLER Connect](/v1/docs/install-roller-connect) alongside cloud printing.

## Example wristband

Below is an example ticket printed based on the session end time. The ticket printing is initiated from ROLLER POS and printed through a wristband printer.

![image.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/23700755-951c-4b69-8afe-ec8b33c6c689/Images/Documentation/360005126536.png)

You can connect multiple wristband printers to the same POS device if you want to print different colored wristbands for different session times.

## Hardware requirements

Supported wristband printers:

- Recommended: Zebra ZD510-HC
- Zebra ZD410

Printers must meet [ROLLER's minimum hardware requirements](/v1/docs/minimum-hardware-and-operating-requirements-for-roller) for Windows OS compatibility.

To print wristbands from ROLLER POS, the following must be in place:

- The wristband printer is connected to the POS computer.
- The printer drivers (software) are installed on the POS computer so that Windows can detect and use the printer.
- 1" x 11" wristband supplies are loaded in the printer. Ensure the aspect ratio of the printer stock is reasonably similar to that of the template for a quality fit.
- ROLLER Connect is installed and running on the POS computer.
- **Print** **tickets** is enabled in the POS device settings.
- Wristband printing is configured in Venue Manager, based on the session end time.

## Step 1: Install the wristband printer on POS and run a test print

Install the wristband printer by connecting it to the POS device by USB, installing the correct driver, and configuring it to print wristband at the size required above.

Make sure [you can print a test wristband](/v1/docs/receipt-printing-troubleshooting-roller-connect) before continuing to the next steps. [ROLLER Connect](/v1/docs/install-roller-connect) must be running on the POS device.

To run a test print:

1. From the Windows search menu, search for **Printers & scanners.** Take note of the printer name as you will need to use this later.
2. Right-click on your wristband printer and select **Manage**. If you do not see your wristband printer listed here, then you will first need to install the printer.
3. Select **Print a test page**.

## Step 2: Configure wristband printing in ROLLER

You can configure ROLLER to print from one wristband printer or from multiple printers, depending on the end session time.

Printing with multiple wristband printers allows you to define wristband printers with different coloured wristbands. For example:

- Printer 1 has Blue wristbands. Guests with blue wristbands end their session at 10 am.
- Printer 2 has Red wristbands. Guests with red wristbands end their session time at 12 pm.

> [!NOTE]
> When entering the printer name into Venue Manager, make it easier by renaming the printer to something simple — like Red, Blue or Green — instead of using the default name. You can do this in Printer properties on the POS computer.

### Enable session pass products to print wristbands in Venue Manager

1. From Venue Manager, go to **Products** > **All Products.**
2. Find and select the session product you want to print wristbands for.
3. Scroll down to **Additional options.**
4. Select the checkbox **Alternative** **printers** > **This product uses ticket printers based on session time**.
5. Select **Save.**

Repeat this process for all the session products you want to print wristbands for.

### Add wristband printer and printing settings in Venue Manager

1. From Venue Manager, select **Settings** > **Printers**
2. Select **Add Printer**, then add the name of the printer. To find the printer name:
  - From the Windows search menu, search for **Printers & scanners;**
  - Select your wristband printer in the list of printers, then select **Manage**.
  - Select **Printer properties**
  - Copy the name of the printer and paste it in the **Printer** **Name** field. The name is case sensitive so you will need to ensure that they match exactly.
3. For the **Session end time,** add the end time for the session pass product tickets.
  - A wristband ticket will be printed for each session, with the end time added (so long as the option is enabled in Venue Manager and the session product's settings as outlined above).
  - If you want wristbands to print for all session times, then you will need to make sure all your session end times are accounted for when configuring these settings.

If you are using 1 wristband printer for all session end times, add the same printer name for all session end times.

If you are using multiple wristband printers, for example, different colored wristband printers, add the different printer names to the relevant session end time. [See an example here](https://cdn.us.document360.io/23700755-951c-4b69-8afe-ec8b33c6c689/Images/Documentation/360004722915.png).

> [!WARNING]
> If you can't see the **Printers** option, contact [the support team](/v1/docs/contact-roller-support) to enable session wristband printing

### Configure POS hardware and device settings in POS

For each POS device complete the following:

1. From POS, go to **More** > **Settings** > **Device**
2. Ensure that **Print** **tickets** is set to **Yes** and that **Print** **master** **tickets** is set to **No**
3. Scroll down and select **Save** **settings**
4. Go to **More** > **Settings** > **Hardware**
5. Ensure that **Use** **ROLLER** **Print** **Service** is set to **Yes**
6. Ensure that **Use** **alternate** **ticket** **printer** is set to **No DO** **NOT** enter anything in the **Alternate** **printer** **name** field. This is required for sticker printing only.

For wristband printing, the printer name is set in Venue Manager.

If the **'Use alternate ticket printer'** option was previously enabled and a printer name was entered, then **you need to remove this text and save;** otherwise, wristband printing will not work, as it will attempt to print a sticker instead.
7. Select **Save** **settings**

Repeat the above steps at each point-of-sale (POS) station where wristband ticket printing will be performed.

## Step 3: Print wristbands from ROLLER POS

- From **ROLLER POS**, find and open the booking which has a session ticket
- Select the printer icon next to the ticket to print your wristband ![Screen_Shot_2020-10-02_at_12.35.10_pm.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/23700755-951c-4b69-8afe-ec8b33c6c689/Images/Documentation/360005187256.png)
- (Optional) To print multiple wristbands simultaneously, select "Select all" and then click the printer icon.
