Increase your conversion rates and provide an easy and intuitive checkout experience for guests, with ROLLER!
To streamline your online checkout and maximize revenue, you can either integrate your checkout with your website to launch an overlay experience, or use a direct web link to launch a full-page experience.
This guide walks through the different checkout experiences you can implement on your website and social pages once you’re ready to start selling online.
How it works
You have lots of flexibility when it comes to presenting your checkout to guests. Read through the example below to see all your available configuration options.
- On your website home page, invite guests to open your complete checkout (with a Buy tickets button, for example). They can then browse all your product offerings.
- Take the guesswork out of browsing for products (and purchasing!) for guests. If you have dedicated product pages on your website (like a Memberships page, for example) configure a button that takes guests directly to the corresponding section in your checkout. No need to search!
- Want to highlight a specific, high-value product? Configure a button on your website that takes guests directly to that product in your checkout so they don’t have to go searching for it. They simply select the button, add the product to their cart and pay!
- And, want to make the checkout experience even easier for guests? Have passes or products that are only available on particular dates? Configure a button on your website that opens to the first available date a pass can be used. Again, guests simply select the button, add the passes to their cart and pay, without having to adjust any dates.
- Finally, want to drive more traffic to your checkout from social media or marketing campaigns? Add a direct link to your checkout on your social media pages or in your marketing comms, and guests simply select to access a full-page checkout experience and all your product offerings!
You can implement these experiences using the overlay checkout and the full-page checkout. Below, we go through what each of these are in more detail.
Overlay versus full-page checkout experiences
There are two ways you can add your checkout to your webpages. You can choose to only configure one of these checkout experiences, or use a combination of the two.
Best practice: Overlay checkout
Integrate your checkout seamlessly with your website using the overlay checkout experience.
The overlay checkout is an embedded experience that allows guests to effortlessly browse your website, while also adding products to their cart from the checkout. The overlay checkout opens as a side panel from the right of the page.
Is the overlay experience right for you?
The overlay experience is a great choice for the following reasons:
- Guests stay on your website, reducing the likelihood of cart abandonment.
- Guests can easily navigate between your website and the checkout, without losing the items in their cart, again, reducing the likelihood of cart abandonment.
- Guests can quickly navigate to specific products or sections in your checkout, making the checkout experience as seamless as possible and reducing the time it takes to make a purchase.
You can have one overlay checkout per page on your website, so guests can browse and add products to their cart from as many webpages as you choose.
Full-page checkout
If you decide not to use the overlay checkout, then you can present your checkout as a standalone experience instead.
With the full-page checkout experience you get the option to configure a home page, which is a curated feed showcasing your product offerings with home page widgets.
If you decide to configure a full-page checkout then best practice is to start with a home page, as this drives conversion rates.
But, to maximize your conversion rates, we recommend using a combination of the overlay checkout on your website, and then sharing a direct link to your full-page checkout from your socials or any marketing campaigns you're running.
Is the full-page experience right for you?
The full-page experience is a great choice for the following reasons:
- Guests can easily see all your products and special offers on a checkout home page. encouraging higher guest spend.
- Guests can access your checkout from social media or marketing campaigns, increasing traffic to your website.
