Improve the guest redemption experience at your venue with progressive checkouts, by enabling guests to redeem their memberships and passes via their smartphone’s digital wallet app.
Your guests can now digitally store their memberships and passes in their Google or Apple wallets, allowing for quick and seamless redemption at your venue.
This article walks through how you can configure and customize the branding for your digital passes, located in your guests’ smartphone wallets.
Why use digital wallets
Digital wallets are becoming more and more popular for both Apple and Android mobile phone users because they’re a convenient and secure way for guests to save their passes and memberships without having to scroll back through old emails for these details.
For venues, configuring digital wallet passes and memberships means speeding up the ticket redemption process, reducing wait times at entry points and improving the overall guest experience.
Configure your memberships and passes for digital wallets
With this feature enabled, you’ll have the option to configure how your venue’s memberships and passes will display in a guests digital wallet.
To get started, from Venue Manager upload your brand's logo for Apple and Google passes in the design settings. Then you can customize the look and feel of the passes in checkout settings. Read the guide below to learn how to do this.
Add wallet logos in brand and appearance settings
Update a dedicated logo for both Apple wallet and Google wallet in Brand and appearance settings. We recommend using .png files with a transparent background for the best results.
- Go to Settings > Design > Brand and appearance
- Go to the section Application images
- Select Upload file to upload a .png logo in Apple wallet logo section. Recommended size for this spot is 300 x 150 px (rectangular, landscape).
- Select Upload file to upload a .png logo in Google wallet logo section. Recommended size is a square image of at least 660 x 660 px.
- Select Save.
Configure wallet layout in checkout settings
To customize the layout and deisgn options for Google and Apple wallet passes, you can do this in Progressive checkout settings.
- Go to Apps > Progressive checkouts > Settings
- Select the Add to wallet tab along the top
- Here you'll see a preview example of what both Apple and Google wallet passes look like
- Configure the background colour you wish to use in Ticket color. Enter a hex code value or use the slider to select.
- For Apple passes you can opt to enable or disable having the venue name on the pass. You might wish to disable this if your logo contains the venue name in it.
- For Apple passes, you can also disable or enable whether the pass shows the checkout background image (from Brand and appearance settings).
- For Google passes you can also disable or enable whether the pass shows the checkout background image (from Brand and appearance settings).
- Select Save.
Itemized digital tickets
By default, when guests add memberships and passes to their digital wallets, all passes in the booking sit under one barcode (memberships will be separate). For example, if a guest makes a booking and purchases 2 adult passes for tomorrow and they add that booking to their digital wallet, they’ll only see one ticket in their digital wallet for both passes, with one barcode to scan at the venue.
But, if you’d like to give your guests the option to create individual digital wallet tickets for each pass in their booking, then select the checkbox for Itemized digital tickets. This means that for the example above, two digital wallet tickets will be created, each with a separate barcode that can be scanned separately.
Disable digital wallets
From here, you can also Disable add to wallet by selecting the checkbox if you don't want guests to have this option. Select Save.
