Introduction
For venues in Florida, state law requires that notices to a minor’s natural guardian appear more prominently than the rest of the waiver. The statement must be in uppercase letters and at least 5 points larger than the standard waiver text.
For example, if the waiver uses a 12pt font, the section for minors must be at least 17pt. Meeting these requirements is essential for compliance and helps protect your business from legal risk.
Solution
Edit your waiver text by applying HTML formatting to increase the size of the minors section so it stands out as required.
Please note that changes will not apply to waivers already signed.
Follow the steps below to apply HTML formatting to your waivers.
Update waiver text font sizing
- From Venue Manager, go to Documents > Waivers > Waiver details.
- Copy your current waiver text from the Content field into a text editor such as Notepad.
- Apply the following HTML formatting to the section you want to make larger and bolded.
<h1><strong>Your minors waiver text here</strong></h1>- Copy the edited waiver text back into Waiver details in Venue Manager.
- Click Save & publish new wavier.
- Select Get waivers link.
- Select Online waivers address to copy the link to your clipboard.
- Paste the link in your internet browser and check the formatting to make sure it adheres to Florida state regulations.
