Introduction
On October 16, 2025 we completed the diagnosis of issues with POS devices failing to connect to ROLLER Connect. These issues on Windows machines were due to the Microsoft Patch - KB5066835. This was implemented by Microsoft to prevent a security vulnerability for web servers that are directly accessible from the internet, which unintentionally interfered with POS devices and ROLLER Connect.
Solution
Install the newer Windows update KB2267602 on your POS device. This update was released by Microsoft to resolve issues from the previous release. Installing this new update and restarting your POS device restores the link with ROLLER Connect.
Install Windows update KB2267602
- Open the Windows Start Menu.
- Search for Windows update settings.
- Select Check for updates.
- Wait for Windows to locate the update KB2267602 and install it.
- Once installed, restart the affected POS device.
- Open ROLLER POS. You should see that the ROLLER Connect error message no longer appears at the top of your screen.
It is essential that you restart your device, the connection cannot be restored until you do so.
