Before you create bowling products in ROLLER, you need to set up your bowling lanes as resources.
Each physical bowling lane in your venue should be created as its own single-booking resource. This ensures lane availability is managed accurately across online bookings, POS and Venue Manager.
How bowling lane resources work
Bowling lanes must be configured as single-booking resources. This means:
- One booking reserves the entire lane(s) and the lane(s) cannot be shared with another booking at the same time.
- Availability updates automatically when bookings are created, edited or cancelled.
- ROLLER prevents double bookings based on your schedules and capacity rules.
- Each lane operates independently, so availability is calculated per lane.
- Lane resources will show up in POS capacity view for in-venue management of bookings.
Before you begin
Before creating your lane resources, confirm:
- How many physical bowling lanes your venue has.
- The maximum number of guests allowed for each lane (eg 6 players).
Determining the exact lane capacity at your venue is important as it impacts bookings that are split across multiple lanes, calculating session duration for game-based products and revenue potential per lane.
Create bowling lane resources
Now that you've determined your venues lanes and their capacity, you can begin setting up the resources for each lane in ROLLER. Follow the steps to learn how to do this:
- In Venue Manger, select Settings.
- Select Resources.
- Select Create a group and add an easily recognizable name, eg. Bowling lanes.
- Select Add new resource and add the name of the first bowling lane, eg. Lane 1.
- In the Capacity field enter the maximum capacity of the lane, eg. 6.
- Select Single bookings.
- Select Save resource.
- Select Add new resource again, and repeat the steps until you've entered all the bowling lanes in.
What's next
Now that you've added your venue's lanes as single-booking resources, it's time to create your bowling products.
