Set up custom ticket ID capture for products that always need a wristband, voucher, or other scannable ID, like an RFID wristband at a destination attraction or a barcoded voucher at a Family Entertainment Center.
With capture enabled, POS prompts your team to scan or enter the ID the moment the product is added to a sale, so every guest is linked to their physical pass before checkout.
This guide shows you how to enable capture for a product and use it during a sale.
How it works
The custom ticket ID field links a ticket on a booking to a physical pass. For example, an RFID wristband, a key tag or a printed barcode. When a guest scans their pass at a redemption point (an access gate, the Mobile Check-in app, or POS), ROLLER recognises the linked booking.
Custom ticket ID capture lets you set up individual products to prompt for the ID during the sale itself. By the time you take payment, every wristband or voucher is already linked to its ticket. Your team doesn't need to edit the booking to add this after checkout.
Capture is configured per product, so you can turn it on only for the items that always need a scannable ID, typically session passes or wristband-required entry products, and leave it off for everything else that doesn't require it.
Set up custom ticket ID capture for a product
To enable capture on a product:
From Venue Manager:
- Select Products in venue manager.
- Open the product you want to configure (for example, a session pass that always requires a wristband).
- Scroll down to the heading Additional options.
- Use the checkbox to turn on Custom ticket ID captured.
- Save the product.
Capture is now active for that product at POS.
Capture a custom ticket ID during a sale
From POS:
- Tap the configured product to add it to the cart.
- When the configured product is selected, you're prompted to scan or enter the custom ticket ID value manually.
- The ID is applied to the ticket and shown on the cart item. POS moves to the next step automatically.
- If you need to edit any of the ticket IDs, you can select the field directly and enter a new value.
- Add any other items and check out as normal.
Tips
- Capture is per product. Turn it on for items that always need a scannable ID, and leave it off for items that don't. Your team can still enter an ID manually in POS for any other items if they need to use the field.
