Before you start
These reports include fixed-price and recurring membership products created with the membership product type. They do not include season or annual passes created as standard pass products.
Use these reports for detailed membership sales, redemption and status data. For a higher-level view of performance over time, use the Analytics dashboards for recurring and fixed-price memberships.
Key terms
Before you review these reports, understand these terms:
- Membership purchase – When a guest buys a membership product variation, such as Platinum Monthly Membership.
- Membership redemption – When a guest uses a membership discount to buy an eligible product, such as tickets, food, beverages, or merchandise. Some POS redemption activity may also count in this report. Needs verification.
- Membership status – For example, current, pending cancellation, declined payment and other status changes.
- Membership growth – The difference between new memberships sold and those churned over a selected timeframe.
How membership activity appears in reports
Membership activity can appear in different reports depending on how the membership was used.
Membership activity is usually recorded in one of two ways:
- A membership discount is applied during a transaction to purchase an eligible product.
- A membership product variation is redeemed at POS.
These actions appear differently in reports.
When a membership is used during a transaction
When a guest uses a membership discount to buy an eligible product, ROLLER records that activity as a membership redemption. This can happen in online checkout, at POS or when staff add the discount to a booking in Venue Manager.
You can review this activity in reports such as:
- Membership Redemptions
- Discounts by Booking
Use these reports when you want to understand how membership benefits were used in purchases. To learn more, see the guide How can I find membership redemptions in Venue Manager?
When a membership is redeemed at POS
A membership product variation sold at POS can also be counted as a membership redemption when it is redeemed at POS.
This can happen when:
- Auto-check-in is enabled in POS device settings.
- Staff manually redeem the membership product variation at POS when it is sold.
If a membership product is sold through Venue Manager or the online checkout, it is not counted as a redemption unless a redemption activity occurs.
Key takeaway
Membership activity does not appear in one report only.
If you are reviewing membership usage, check:
- Membership Redemptions for high-level redemption activity
- Discounts by Booking for transaction-level discount details
Why this is better: improved grammar and stronger list formatting.
