Cause
A card terminal showing a System Tamper error message or the maintenance screen means that your terminal may be faulty or damaged.
This can occur for a number of different reasons:
- Physical damage to the terminal.
- Liquids spilled on or inside of the terminal.
- Dirt, dust or debris lodged inside the terminal.
- The terminal has been opened or tampered with.
What to do
- Assess the terminal for any visible damage, such as water stains, impact marks or stuck buttons. If there are no visible signs of damage, attempt to reboot the terminal.
- If there is visible damage or rebooting does not resolve the issue, the terminal is no longer usable and needs to be replaced. Contact our support team to assist you with ordering a replacement device.
Include photos of the card terminal's front and back that clearly shows the serial number for the support team.
