Where do I find the PIN for my card reader?

Prev Next

ROLLER Payments card terminals have an admin passcode that opens the terminal's admin menu and lets you run software updates. It's separate from the POS PIN your staff use to log in to POS, and from the PIN a guest enters on the terminal to approve their own payment. Here's where to find each one.

Where do I find my card terminal's passcode?

You'll find the terminal admin passcode in POS. Go to More (3 dots) > Settings > Hardware, then find the passcode listed for your card terminal.

What is the passcode used for?

The admin passcode opens the terminal's admin menu, where you run software updates or change network settings (eg setting a static IP). You don't need it to take a guest's payment.

How is it different from a POS PIN?

The POS PIN is the code your staff use to log in to POS — it isn't a terminal setting. An account administrator can set or change a staff member's POS PIN from Venue Manager at Settings > Staff > All staff, by selecting the staff member and choosing Set POS PIN. For the steps, see Change staff passwords and POS PINs.

How do I reset the passcode?

You can't reset the terminal admin passcode from the terminal itself. If you can't find or use it, or you need it reset, contact your customer success manager or the support team.
