A multi-pass allows your venue to sell a pass that can be redeemed for a fixed number of visits over a set time. Multi-passes are created using the standard pass product type in ROLLER. For example, you can sell a pass that’s valid for 10 visits within 6 months of purchase.
These types of passes are commonly used at theme parks, attractions, and entertainment venues and may also be referred to by venues as a multi-pass or multi-use pass.
When to use
Use this setup when you want to:
Allow a guest to redeem entry multiple times
Track how many uses are remaining on a pass
Offer pricing flexibility for Adult, Child or Concession tickets
Provide time-based expiry (eg summer passes, seasonal offers or validity from purchase date)
How it works
You create a Standard pass product with a set number of uses (eg 5, 10 or 15).
Guests redeem the pass at POS on entry.
Each check-in reduces the available uses.
You can track usage in the Attendance report.
Create a standard pass
- From Venue Manager, go to Products > Create product
- Select Standard pass.
Create the standard pass ticket type(s)
Add your pass ticket types. For example:
Adult – 10 Visit Pass
Child – 10 Visit Pass
Make sure each ticket type includes:
A clear name with the ticket type and number of uses (eg Adult - 10 visit pass)
Price
Set up the multi-pass
There are three different setups, depending on how your pass should behave.
Option 1: Multi-pass with a fixed amount of uses
Guests can redeem their pass at any time, until all uses are used up.
In the standard pass product settings, scroll to Sales availability.
Select the days the pass can be used (eg when your venue is open).
-
Set validity period to 100 weeks. (This is the maximum allowed, but you can update it when the time has passed.)
Customize the guest message
Add an override to let guests know the pass is valid for X number of uses (eg “This pass is valid for 10 visits.”)
Enable the setting to limit the number of uses, and set the number (eg 10).
Option 2: Multi-pass valid for specific calendar dates
Use this setup if the pass is only valid during a set time period (eg July–August, or a limited promotion in May).
Select the days (eg Monday to Friday) and dates the pass can be used (eg a specific date range).
Customize the guest message
Add an override that explains the date range and use limit (eg “This pass is valid for 10 visits between July 1 and August 31.”)Enable the setting to limit the number of uses, and set the number (eg 10)
- Specify the days the pass can be used - set it up for which days it can be used (when your venue is open) or you can also limit these to specific days.
Option 3: Multi-pass valid from booking date (eg 6 months or 1 year)
Use this if the pass expires after a fixed time from the date of the booking.
Set the days the pass can be used (eg venue’s open days).
Override the guest message (eg “This pass is valid for 10 visits within 12 months of purchase.”)
Set validity to 100 weeks (you’ll need to update the product after this period).
Enable the setting to limit the number of uses, and set the number (eg 10).
Enable the setting to expire the pass X days after the date of the booking. For example, set to 365 days for a 1-year pass from the date the booking is made.
How to track usage
To see how many times a guest has used their multi-pass, use the Attendance report in ROLLER.
