Multi-venue gift card redemption gives your guests more flexibility and makes gift cards more valuable across your group. Guests can buy an HQ gift card at one venue in your group and redeem it at any other venues you’ve chosen to include.
For venues and guests, this makes gift cards more valuable during the holiday season and beyond, while making sure the books stay balanced with updated reports to support cross-venue redemptions.
This guide shows you how to enable and manage multi-venue gift card redemptions from your HQ venue.
Set up multi-venue gift card redemption
Follow these steps in HQ to set up multi-venue redemption for a gift card product:
- From your HQ venue, go to Products > All products.
- Create or edit a gift card product.
- Select the venue tags to give those venues access to the gift card product.
- Tick Multi-venue redemption to allow guests to redeem the gift card across venues with access to the product.
- Sell as normal. Any gift card from this HQ product can be redeemed, refunded and searched at POS across the venues that have access to this product.
All existing variations of the HQ gift card product will automatically support multi-venue redemption. You don’t need to reissue or migrate existing cards.
Reporting and reconciliation
When a guest redeems a gift card at another venue, reports now capture both sides of the transaction so everything stays balanced.
Venues will see two new fields or columns:

Multi-venue gift card payable (at the venue that sold the card)
This appears when your venue sold a gift card and it’s redeemed somewhere else (eg what you owe). It shows that another venue provided the service. -
Multi-venue gift card receivable (at the venue that redeemed the card)
This appears when your venue redeems a gift card that was sold by another venue (eg what's owed to you). It shows that you provided the service for a gift card that was sold elsewhere.

This ensures both sides of every redemption are recorded, so reports balance without manual adjustments.
You can trace where a multi-venue gift card was issued or redeemed in a few ways:
At the issuing venue:
Check the gift card booking history at the issuing managed venue.
- From Venue Manager, go to Products > All products.
- From the options menu (3 dots) for the gift card, select View gift cards.
- Search for and select the gift card from the list.
At POS:
Search for the gift card number at POS to view its usage history. You can search across all venues that have access to the gift card.
At HQ:
Run the Revenue Recognition report at HQ for a group-wide view.
API and reporting integration
The "Multi-venue gift card payable" and "Multi-venue gift card receivable" columns (detailed in the "Reporting and reconciliation" section above) have been added to the reporting/revenue-entries public API endpoint.

FAQs
Can guests redeem a multi-venue gift card at any venue in my group?
No. Guests can only redeem cards at venues you’ve provided access to using venue tags in the HQ gift card product setup in HQ. The venue must also have added it to their product list and be selling it.
Do I need to reissue or migrate existing gift cards?
No. Once the Multi-venue redemption setting is ticked in a gift card's product settings at HQ, all existing variations of that product automatically support multi-venue redemption.
Does ROLLER transfer money between venues when a card is redeemed elsewhere?
No. Currently, these are accounting-only updates. No money is transferred between venues by ROLLER. Reports show payables and receivables for balancing purposes only.
Can I use this feature across venues in different currencies?
No. Multi-venue redemption is only available across venues that use the same currency. If you try to include venues with different currencies, ROLLER will block the setup, letting you know why.
What if we already have legacy multi-venue gift cards in use?
Those cards will continue to work. Once ROLLER enables the new HQ setup for you, and you enable the setup in the HQ gift card product, the new flow will take priority.
