Influence guest purchase behavior in checkout using price rules
Preview release (Playground): Yes
Target release date: Tuesday 28 October (AEDT)
Highlight time-based and early bird offers for session pass products in checkouts, showing guests estimated savings when booking a cheaper day or time — or by booking ahead.
These price highlights incentivize guests to:
- Book off-peak sessions, helping you increase total attendance and smooth out demand across the week.
- Book earlier, helping you lock in bookings and revenue sooner — and plan staff and resources more effectively.
You can also choose whether the highlights appear in checkouts for each product.
- From Venue Manager, go to Products and select the session pass product you want to edit (or create a new one).
- Add a time-based or early bird price rule if one hasn’t already been added to the product.
- Choose one of the following:
-
Time-based price rules: Select Show price comparisons at checkout to highlight different ticket prices during checkout so guests can see cheaper times, motivating them to book during quieter sessions that don’t fill as quickly.
-
Early bird price rules: Turn on Highlight early bird pricing on checkout to show a message at checkout encouraging guests to check the calendar for future dates and save by booking early.
-
The savings percentage shown in the checkout for both these price rules compares the cheapest available ticket on the selected date with the cheapest ticket anywhere on the calendar. It shows how much you could save by booking on the cheaper day instead (eg Saturday $25 vs Monday $15 = Save up to 40%).
Smarter pricing for group tickets using price rules
Preview release (Playground): Yes
Target release date: Tuesday 28 October (AEDT)
Price rules now support group passes like Family of 4 or Group of 10, so you can easily run time-based and early bird offers. This gives you more control to fine-tune group pricing, boost revenue during peak times, fill quieter sessions and reward guests who book early.
- Time-based: Set different rates for peak and off-peak sessions (eg higher prices at busy times, lower on weekdays).
- Early bird: Offer discounts when guests book ahead (eg 10% off when booked 7+ days in advance).
From Venue Manager, open a session or standard pass product with a group ticket variation and add your preferred time-based or early bird rule.
Choose to hide expected totals when closing till
Preview release (Playground): Yes
Target release date: Tuesday 28 October (AEDT)
As part of our continued work of enhancing POS security, this enhancement reduces fraud risk by allowing blind till closing in POS. This update introduces a new user permission Can see expected totals when closing a till session that hides expected cash totals during till closure, preventing operators from seeing calculated values before entering their count.
This permission is enabled by default for POS operator roles, but a custom role can be created where the permission is disabled so venues can take advantage of blind till closing.
To close a till session with blind till closure enabled:
- From POS, select More > Settings > Current till session.
- Select Close till session at the bottom of the screen.
- Enter the total counted cash (including your float) in the Cash value field and Yes submit, $x.
- Once submitted, if the cash value is lower than expected it goes through without notifying the operator.
Prevent till closure with outstanding items
Preview release (Playground): Yes
Target release date: Tuesday 28 October (AEDT)
As part of our continued work of enhancing POS security, this enhancement strengthens cash control by ensuring all transactions are accounted for before closing the till. You can now prevent POS operators from closing a till session while there are suspended or incomplete transactions outstanding.
For those with the POS operator role, before a till can be closed ROLLER automatically checks for open tabs, parked draft bookings, items left in cart and prompts the operator to resolve or cancel them, or select the Skip button to proceed without actioning the items.
There is now a new permission Can reconcile till without completing outstanding items, that’s automatically enabled for POS operators and is available to enable or disable when creating custom roles.
To close a till session and resolve outstanding items:
- From POS, go to More > Settings > Current till session.
- Select Close till session.
- If there are open tabs, parked draft bookings or other outstanding items a pop up will appear with the items and links to resolve or cancel these transactions. Alternatively the operator can select the Skip button, this closes the till without resolving the items. If they don’t have the permission enabled, there is no skip button available.
Customize order for stock modifiers and party package inclusions
Preview release (Playground): Yes
Target release date: Tuesday 28 October (AEDT)
After this release, you’ll be able to choose the order that party package inclusions and food & beverage modifier groups and options appear in checkout, POS, mobile food and beverage ordering and printed dockets.
This makes it easier for staff to put through orders quickly and ensures guests see a logical flow when customizing their purchases.
It’s also going to be faster to set up new modifiers. You’ll also be able to create a new modifier right from the product creation screen when making a new product, instead of going to Products > Stock > Modifiers.
This newly created modifier is then available for use on other products from the Modifiers section in Venue Manager.
To edit or rearrange the order of a modifier or party package:
- From Venue Manager, go to Products.
- Go to your existing party package or stock product, or create a new one.
- Drag and drop inclusions or modifier groups and options into the sequence you want.
- Select Save.
The order changes are reflected instantly in POS, Mobile F&B, online checkout, and kitchen dockets.
New product status column in the HQ Managed Product Settings Export
Preview release (Playground): Yes
Target release date: Tuesday 28 October (AEDT)
You can now see whether each product in the HQ Managed Product Settings Export export is Active or Archived in a Product Status column in the HQ venues CSV export. This makes it faster to confirm changes (eg default tax rate updates) without second-guessing whether values are coming from old, archived products — reducing confusion, saving time and giving HQ teams quick confirmation when auditing venue product data.
- From your HQ venue, go to Reports > All reports.
- Search for and select HQ Managed Product Settings Export.
- Choose your venue or venue tags, then select Alert me when complete.
- When it’s ready, open Notifications (bell) and download the report.
Multi-venue gift card payable and receivable columns added to revenue entries API
The new multi-venue gift card redemption revenue recognition columns have been added to the reporting/revenue-entries public API.
If you activate this feature and are using our API for reporting, you may need to review your setup and make sure the added revenue endpoints are factored into their integration.
Automatically add party buffer time to booked-out multi-booking resources
Preview release (Playground): Yes
Target release date: Tuesday 28 October (AEDT)
Previously, buffer time for parties could only be added to single-booking resources, such as party rooms. Now, you can add buffer time after events to multi-booking resources when party package products are set up to book out multi-booking resources — like a trampoline zone, laser tag arena or full venue hire.
This improvement helps prevent back-to-back bookings, automatically giving your team time to reset between parties, and stop guests from arriving too early. Buffer time also now appears on the daily capacity view, so your team always knows when spaces are unavailable.
To set this up for multi-booking resources:
- From the party program in a party package product setup, select Book out multi-booking resources.
- Enter your preferred buffer time for the multi-booking resource.
Improved Apple and Google wallet ticket display
Preview release (Playground): Yes
Target release date: Tuesday 28 October (AEDT)
Customize how your logo appears in Apple and Google Wallet passes to enhance your venue’s branding.
Previously, the default logo was pulled from the venue design page and could appear stretched or cropped, sometimes pushing the venue name off screen.
With this update, venues can:
- Upload a dedicated logo for Wallet passes at the correct size (cropped to 1:1 ratio)
- Choose to hide the venue name if the logo design already includes it
- Remove the background strip image if preferred
- See an accurate preview in Venue Manager
These enhancements make wallet passes look cleaner and consistent with your brand.
To update your wallet branding options:
- From Venue Manager, go to Design > Brand assets > Wallet logo
- Upload your new Apple / Google Wallet image according to the specifications
- Configure your display options (optional), such as hiding venue name or removing the background strip
Spanish fiscal compliance with EFSTA
Plan: All
Preview release (Playground): No
Target release date: Tuesday 28 October (AEDT)
Venues in Spain can now issue fully compliant invoices under the VeriFactu regime with ROLLER’s new EFSTA integration.
This update ensures every ROLLER sales channel — POS, online, and phone bookings — meets Spanish fiscal requirements for secure invoice generation, digital signing and optional real-time submission to the AEAT (Spanish Tax Authority).
Through EFSTA, each transaction is automatically signed, timestamped and marked with a compliant QR code that appears on receipts and emails. This creates a verified audit trail while keeping operations seamless for venues and guests alike.
