Release date: Tuesday 21 July 2026 (AET)
This month you can scope what new API keys are allowed to do, grow loyalty sign-ups straight from your online waiver flow, keep more members with new pause and cancellation-rescue options, show guests session availability with a new online checkout widget, turn on payment methods yourself in Venue Manager, and record and report on stock wastage.
For new and improved features with setup guidance, see What's new in ROLLER: July 2026. For API updates, see the API changelog.
API
Scope what a new API key can do, create and manage gift cards through the API, and get API access switched on by default in Playground. The ROLLER API is a paid add-on.
New Control what a new API key can access
You can now define exactly what an API key is allowed to do when you create it, choosing the actions it can perform and the type of data it can touch, rather than giving it access to everything by default. This makes it easier to share a key safely with a partner or agency and keep sensitive data like guest and financial information locked down. Set the scope from Settings > Integrations > API Keys.
New Create and manage gift cards with the ROLLER API
You can now create ROLLER gift cards through the API, so partner platforms can issue gift cards on your behalf without staff creating them one by one. You can create up to 1,000 gift cards in a single request, assign a custom card number where needed and email cards straight to recipients. Partner platforms can also check gift card balances, take payment with a ROLLER-issued gift card and refund back onto that same card. Tips can't be paid for with a gift card, but a tip can now be logged against a booking through the API. Includes support for the GoTab integration.
Improved API access on by default for all Playground venues
API access is now switched on for all Playground venues, so you can start testing and building with the ROLLER API straight away without waiting on a support request. Using the Update Playground button no longer resets your API access or removes keys you've already created, and Playground API calls don't count toward your usage limits.
Improved API enhancements: stock type and membership status
The Stock Product API now exposes an item's stock type (food and beverage, retail, miscellaneous or untagged), making food and beverage items easier to identify in third-party integrations. The API can also now tell you whether a membership is paused, about to be paused or scheduled to be cancelled, and on what dates, both when looking up a booking and via automatic booking notifications, so external systems can stay in sync with a member's status.
Bookings
Split bookings evenly across resources, plus fixes to party inclusions, date-of-birth fields and session pricing.
New Split bookings evenly across resources
Bookings can now be automatically split evenly across available resources.
Fixes
The year 2008 is now available in the date of birth field on RSVP forms for party bookings.
Changing the session time on a POS ticket no longer resets the custom unit price to the original product price.
Party package inclusions no longer disappear in Venue Manager when more inclusions are added to the same booking.
A booking item's validity status now updates to Valid on the day of the session.
Party inclusions are no longer duplicated when bookings are created through the Calendar or Daily Capacity view.
Food and beverage
Fixes
The Convert to Tab button no longer appears when Tabs are disabled for the venue.
The print button now appears when the KDS is the only available print station.
Gift cards
Fixes
Gift card deferred revenue is now generated for bookings that have a discount applied.
Cancelling a complimentary gift card booking now fully deducts the gift card deferred revenue.
HQ
Set up guest segments centrally, a reworked discount code upload, and fixes to schedules, gift card refunds and bulk edits across managed venues.
Now generally available Set up guest segments at HQ
You can now set up guest segments centrally at HQ and have them automatically published to every managed venue in your group. Saved segments are pushed to managed venues with an HQ tag so venue staff can see which are managed centrally, and existing guests are mapped to the new segment automatically. Set this up from Guest > Segmentation > Segments. The Can manage HQ guest segments and Can access segment settings permissions are required. Available on Pro plans and above.
Improved Faster, higher-volume discount code upload via HQ
Discount code upload via HQ has been reworked to improve performance. You can now enter up to 1,000 codes manually through the UI, or upload up to 200,000 codes via bulk CSV. Discount codes stored in HQ can also be enabled for group-wide use by ticking Usage Limits apply across selected venues.
Fixes
HQ schedule changes no longer override controlled venues' selected resources.
Staff can now refund gift cards that were issued by venues other than their own.
The Days valid from date of redemption setting is now editable by controlled venues when HQ hadn't originally defined a value before the venue added the product to its catalog.
HQ Bulk Edit now updates variations that don't yet have an image set when editing parent product images.
Loyalty
New Grow loyalty enrollment through your online waiver flow (early access)
Guests who buy a product with waiver requirements are now prompted to join your loyalty program right after signing, with a single Join loyalty selection and no separate sign-up step. This works wherever guests sign, including during online checkout and via the online waiver link, in venue or by email or text. Guests who select Skip for now and are subscribed to your mailing list are still invited by email so they can join later. Your venue needs loyalty activated and waivers enabled. Loyalty is a paid add-on.
Memberships
New retention options to keep members longer, group memberships out of beta, and fixes to revenue recognition, expiry and the progressive checkout.
New Boost membership retention with pause and cancellation-rescue options
A suite of new options helps keep members who might otherwise cancel. Staff can schedule a membership pause from Venue Manager, which starts after the current billing cycle, or you can let members pause their own membership from their online account, with a maximum total pause duration you set within a 12-month period. If a member starts a cancellation online, you can show cancellation-rescue offers before they finish, such as pausing or switching to an alternative plan with an optional discount. You can turn on some or all of these options. Available on Premium plans and above.
Now generally available Group and family memberships for all venues
You can now sell a membership that covers a whole group, such as a family, friends or a corporate group, under a single membership product. Primary members are permanent, and additional members can be added or removed by the membership holder from their online account or by staff at POS, with billing updating automatically for any changes. Previously in beta, this is now available for all venues. Available on Premium plans and above.
Fixes
Membership revenue is now fully recognized for affected bookings in the Revenue Recognition report.
Standard passes now expire on the expiry date itself, rather than at midnight the day after.
A membership code no longer stacks on top of an existing discount code in the progressive checkout when Can use multiple discounts is disabled.
The master ticket now shows the correct session start time when added to a digital wallet.
Online checkout
A session availability widget, clearer venue labeling and more checkout customization, plus progressive checkout fixes.
New Show sessions by availability with a new checkout widget
Venues selling similar session-based products, like escape rooms or VR rooms, can now add a session availability panel to the checkout homepage. The panel shows several products and their available times together, so guests can compare availability without clicking into each product separately. It shows up to 6 times by default with an option to expand, and respects each product's existing price rules and sold-out settings. This is not supported with overlay checkouts. Set this up in your checkout settings. Available by request, so contact your customer success manager or the support team to turn it on.
New Limit an add-on suggestion to once per day
You can now configure an add-on that's linked to multiple products to appear only once per day across the online checkout, so guests who add several of those products no longer see the same add-on suggested multiple times. Turn this on with Show add-on once per day in the add-on checkout settings.
New Beta Add call-out labels to variations
You can now add call-out labels to ticket and stock variations in the online checkout to highlight key information or promotions. To turn this on, contact your customer success manager or the support team.
New Customize checkout wording
You can now customize the wording in the online checkout, including the Products heading, to better match your venue's brand.
New Venue name shows in overlay checkouts
Venues with multiple locations now show a Booking for [venue name] label at the top of the checkout overlay, which stays visible as guests scroll, helping prevent guests booking at the wrong venue. There's no setup required for venues using overlay checkouts.
Fixes
The progressive checkout no longer displays incorrect prices for products with price rules applied.
Selecting an answer in the additional details form no longer clears the previous radio button selection.
Standard pass availability now appears consistently in the progressive checkout.
Standard passes with a set quantity no longer show as unavailable in the online checkout when capacity remains.
Party packages
New Apply purchase limits to party packages
You can now set minimum and maximum purchase limits on party packages across all ticket variations combined, rather than per variation. For example, with adult and child variations you can set a maximum of 10 tickets across both, so guests can book any combination up to that total through the online checkout.
New Print wristbands and stickers for party packages
Wristband and sticker printing is now available for party packages, having previously been supported for session passes only. Wristbands print automatically when a guest is checked in at POS and their session end time matches a configured printer, set up centrally under Settings > Printers. Stickers print via a sticker printer linked to a POS device, set up as an alternate ticket printer under More > Settings > Hardware. To enable either option, open the product and use Additional options > Alternative printer.
Payments
New Turn on payment methods yourself in Venue Manager
You can now turn on additional payment methods for your venue directly in Venue Manager, with no support ticket required. Choose from the methods approved for your country and turn each one on for online checkout, POS or both. When guests have more ways to pay, they're less likely to abandon their cart. Set this up from Settings > Account > Payments. Some methods may be available for checkout or POS only.
Fixes
Card payments and payment links now work in Venue Manager.
Payment links no longer stay active for around a minute after a booking is cancelled.
POS
Fixes
POS no longer keeps redirecting to the Device page and prompting for a manager PIN.
The POS receipt subtotal no longer incorrectly matches the grand total when a discount is applied.
The POS Add Items button now adds to a bowling booking instead of replacing the existing items.
A checkout assigned to multiple print stations on a single device no longer displays the wrong reprint label.
Price rules
Fixes
Price overrides can now be applied to packages and party packages.
Party package time-based pricing can now be saved when one or more day prices are set to $0.
Session passes used as add-ons now apply time-based price rules when the product isn't in the online checkout product list.
Reporting
Track Google Things to do bookings, choose when fees are recognized in revenue reporting, and a fix to staff attribution.
Now generally available Choose when booking and transaction fees are recognized
If your venue uses accrual accounting, you can now choose to defer booking and transaction fee recognition until the booking is redeemed, so fee revenue lines up with when the service is delivered. Deferred fees show as deferred revenue until the booking is redeemed or expires, and the Trial Balance report and Revenue Recognition report both gain a deferred fee revenue row or column. This applies to new bookings only and excludes gift card fees. Change the setting from Settings > Account > Tax & fees > Fees tab. The Can edit fee recognition permission is required.
New Measure Google Things to do performance in the Bookings report
You can now see how many bookings Google Things to do brings in, directly in the Bookings report. Add the Referral Source column from Reports > All reports > Bookings report and any booking that came through Google Things to do is labeled Google.
Fixes
Staff are now attributed correctly in the Staff Sales Insight report in Analytics, instead of all showing as Unknown.
ROLLER iQ
New ROLLER iQ mobile dashboard (early access)
ROLLER iQ now opens on mobile with a live dashboard showing key metrics like revenue and bookings, so you can see how your venue is tracking week on week at a glance. You can customize the dashboard with the metrics that matter most to you, and select any metric to launch an iQ conversation that digs deeper into the numbers.
Improved ROLLER iQ on by default for the Manager role (early access)
The Can use ROLLER iQ permission is now switched on by default for the Manager system role, so managers get iQ-powered insights without an administrator turning it on first.
Stock
New Record and report on stock wastage
Venues selling food and beverage can now record wastage, such as spoilage, breakage, staff comps or expiry, with a reason and quantity, from either POS or Venue Manager. In POS, use the Record wastage button; in Venue Manager, use the overflow menu on the Stock items page. The new Wastage overview report shows product, quantity, stock type, staff member, date and total wastage cost, grouped by reason by default. Recording wastage in POS needs the Can record wastage in POS permission, otherwise a Manager PIN is required. Available on Premium plans and above.
Improved More stock types for richer reporting
More options have been added as stock types, so you can tag stock products more precisely and compare performance between stock types in the Stock Sales report. Anything not specified shows as Untagged. Set the type in the stock product settings.
Waivers
Fixes
Waiver and RSVP responses are no longer removed from bookings when the associated party package is archived.
Waiver forms no longer allow a future date to be entered as the date of birth for minors.
Other fixes

Emails: Booking notification emails now send when a booking is completed through the progressive checkout.
