Why can't I edit or refund a booking in the past?

  • Why can't I edit or refund a historical or expired booking?

  • When trying to refund or edit a past-dated booking, I receive an error. Why is that?

  • I am an Administrator but can't modify a historical booking due to an error. Why is that?

Requirements

  • The staff role permission Can edit booking

  • The staff role permission Can edit past bookings

  • The staff role permission Can refund

Solution

If you have the right permissions but you're still facing an error when attempting to edit or refund a past booking, it is because the booking modification settings need to be updated:

  1. From Venue Manager, go to Settings > Account > Venue Settings

  2. Select Unlock to make changes in the top right corner

  3. Scroll down to the Bookings & inquiries section

  4. Under Booking modifications, select an option that temporarily allows editing of the past-dated booking you're working on

  5. Save

  6. Revert the setting to its original selection to restrict users from editing historical bookings again
