Why can't I delete products in Venue Manager?

Introduction

In ROLLER, products are tied directly to reporting data. If deleted, it would remove all sales, booking, and operational data associated with that product. This would interfere with financial tracking, performance analysis and compliance requirements.

Solution

Instead of deleting products, you can archive them. Archiving removes the product from sale and hides it from day-to-day operations, but it preserves the product’s historical data in your reports.

Archiving ensures your reporting remains complete and accurate while keeping Venue Manager uncluttered. This can be useful when products are deprecated, a mistake occurred while creating a product and more.

Once archived, the product will no longer be available for sale anywhere in ROLLER. You can also unarchive products if required.

Follow the steps below to archive a product in Venue Manager.

Archive a product

  1. In Venue Manager, go to Products > All products.

  2. For the product you want, select the options menu (3 dots), then select Archive.

  3. Select Confirm.

When sorting by product categories in reports, archived products don't appear in the report. However, if you remove product categories from the filter, the data for archived products show up in relevant reports.
