ROLLER Payments card terminal network configuration

In order for ROLLER Payments card terminals to process transactions, there needs to be communication between your POS device, card terminal and ROLLER Payments via our partner Adyen. To enable this communication, your network needs to be configured to allow access to specific ports and addresses.

Configure your network 

1. If you need to whitelist IP addresses, configure your firewall to allow outgoing HTTPS traffic from your cash registers and payment terminals to the following domains:
    

   • *.adyen.com
   • *.adyenpayments.com
      

   Whitelisting should be based on the DNS name of these URLs. Your firewall should dynamically check for IP address updates, at least every 60 seconds. 

   Do not hard-code these IP addresses, as these can change over time. 

2. Open the ports:
    
   • tcp/443 to the internet.
   • tcp/8443 on your LAN.

Configure the terminal IP address

There are two ways to assign an IP address to a terminal:

• Dynamic IP: Your DHCP server assigns an IP address to the terminal.
• Static IP: You enter the IP address and other configuration details manually on the terminal.

By default, DHCP is enabled on the payment terminal.

To configure a static terminal IP address:

1. On the connected terminal, open the Admin menu by pressing 9 and then Green.
2. Enter the passcode if requested and press Green again.
   
   You can find your passcode in POS under More > Settings > Device
    

3. Select Network and then, depending on your connection type:

   Connection type	Select
   Wired	Ethernet
   Wireless	WiFi > select your Wi-Fi network > IP Settings.

4. In IP Settings, clear the Use DHCP check box.

5. Enter your network details. To type a period (.), press 1 twice. 
   
   Enter the IP address, the Subnet mask, the Default gateway, the Preferred DNS, and the Alternate DNS.

   The static IP address must be unique in the network and, if you have more than one terminal, ensure the static IP is unique for each terminal.

    

6. Select Apply.

Wi-Fi recommendations

To connect your ROLLER Payments card terminals over WiFi, your access point should support:

• WPA/WPA2-Enterprise encryption, or WPA/WPA2-Personal encryption.
• 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz frequencies.
