Stock movement report

Prev Next

The stock movement report gives you a dedicated view of stock lost to spoilage, breakage, staff comps and expiry, or stock that’s been voided or refunded from a booking, so you can see what's being wasted, why and how much it's costing your venue.

This is an operations report, not a financial report. It's designed to support day-to-day decisions about your stock. It is not a financial report for accounting or tax reporting.

Make sure the report shows accurate data

For the stock movement report to be useful, stock movement needs to be recorded, and the underlying stock products need to be set up correctly.

Record stock movement at POS or in Venue Manager

The data in this report depends on staff members recording stock movement at POS or in Venue Manager.

See the process of recording wastage by selecting the steps in the interactive demo below. Learn more about recording stock movement in the guide Record and report on stock wastage.

Enter the cost of goods on each stock variation

Without an accurate cost of goods value, the total wastage cost in this report will be misleading.

Each variation of a stock product should have a value in the COGS field.

Learn how to enter COGS for each variation in the guide Cost of Goods report.

Ensure stock products are classified correctly

For items to be reported under the correct stock type, each product needs to be labelled accordingly. Anything without a stock type selected will be classified as Untagged.

You can update the stock type in the Additional options section of the product using the drop down.

Learn how to enter a stock type for each stock product in the guide Create stock products.
