Create reseller price rules

Prev Next

Configure your reseller rates once to automatically charge the correct amount for every booking, eliminating manual spreadsheet lookups. A reseller price rule organizes your reseller pricing into named tiers (such as Bronze, Silver and Gold), and you enter the price for each tier directly in each product’s variation table.

Advanced channel management add-on

Let your resellers book your tickets themselves, with every booking recorded in ROLLER. Available on all plans with the advanced channel management add-on. The reseller portal is in early access. To add it or learn more, contact your customer success manager or the support team.

How reseller price rules work

  • Rules define tiers, not rates: Creating a rule sets up your tier names.

  • Prices are set in each product's variations table: When you apply a price rule to a product, a column for each tier appears next to the base price.

  • Resellers are assigned one tier in each rule: Assign each reseller to one tier per rule on their reseller record. That tier determines their rate for any product connected to that specific rule.

  • Tier names are internal: Resellers don't see tier names in the portal, only the price they pay.

  • Flexible management: You can rename tiers or add new ones at any time. A new tier charges the base price until you enter its price in each product's variations table.

Plan your pricing structure

Before setting up your reseller price rules in ROLLER, have your agreed commercial rate levels ready.

  • Standardize your tiers
Standardized tiers (eg Bronze, Silver, and Gold) are much easier to maintain than creating a unique rate for every single reseller. While you can create a custom tier for just one partner, every extra tier you add takes more time to configure and keep current.

  • Create separate rules for different product types
Create a separate price rule for each product type that has its own set of rate levels. For example, you might offer five tiers for general admission but only two for animal encounters. By creating two separate rules, you can manage them independently, and a reseller could be assigned a Gold tier in one rule and a Premium tier in the other.

Check product compatibility

  • Supported products: Reseller price rules work with session passes, standard passes, party packages and packages. A package needs to contain a single standard or session pass.

  • Packages and party packages: Tier pricing applies only to the pass or party ticket. Extra inclusions (such as food, drinks or merchandise) remain the same price across all tiers.

  • Stock products: Stock items can be sold to resellers but they don’t support price rules. If you sell stock at different reseller rates, create a separate stock product for each rate.

  • One rule per product: Applying a reseller price rule to a product replaces any price rule it already has. A product can use one price rule at a time. The base price in the product's settings doesn't change.

Apply a reseller price rule to a product

The permission required to apply a price rule to a product is Can edit products. Administrators and managers have this permission enabled by default.

Create your reseller products before you apply a price rule. You enter the tier prices in each product's variations table. If you haven't created your reseller products yet, see Set up and tag your reseller products.

  1. From Venue Manager, go to Products and open the product you want to price for resellers.

  1. In the product's Price rule setting, select your new rule from the Reseller price rules section of the drop-down.

  2. In the variations table, enter a price in each tier column.

  3. Select Save.

Unpriced tiers automatically default to the product's base price. Make sure to price every tier before assigning it to a reseller.

Next steps in your setup

Now that your reseller price rules are ready, continue setting up your reseller channel. A reseller can only book a product that's added to their reseller record and to your reseller checkout.

  1. Set up and tag your reseller products

  2. Create a reseller record and contacts

  3. Set up your reseller checkout and share it with your resellers
