Adding a QR code to your printed receipts gives guests a quick way to take action after they pay, like checking in, leaving feedback or redeeming a discount on their next visit. ROLLER supports two different QR code options depending on what you want the code to do:
Add a QR code or barcode to your receipt template: this is a general-purpose code (eg for check-in, a survey link or compliance info) that appears on your receipts.
Print a discount code with a QR code: this is a unique discount code that prints when a guest buys a qualifying product, so they have it ready for their next visit.
Add a QR code to your receipt template
Custom printed receipts, including QR codes, are only supported with cloud printing.
From Venue Manager, go to Settings > Design > Receipt templates.
Select the template you want to edit. Alternatively, select the options menu (3 dots), then select Edit template.
Select the panel that contains the QR code or barcode element.
Turn on the QR code.
Review your changes in the live preview on the right. Your receipts will reflect the update when they're next issued at POS.
Print a discount code with a QR code on receipts
This option works with discounts set to issue a code on purchase, so a unique code is generated when a guest buys a specific product. The printed code includes a QR code, redemption instructions and an expiry date. It works with both cloud printing and ROLLER Connect.
From Venue Manager, go to Products > Discount codes.
Select a discount code.
Select Issue code on purchase.
Choose which products trigger the code.
Turn on Print discount on receipt.
Under Sales channels, choose which channels generate and issue the code.
Enter redemption instructions to tell guests when and how they can use their discount.
Select Save.
If Receipts can be emailed from POS is turned on in your global POS settings, the issued discount code is also included in the receipt PDF sent to guests after a POS purchase.
