Text/SMS fees

Throughout the ROLLER platform, there are a number of features that send text/SMS messages to your guests. If your venue uses any of these features, then there will be a fee included on your monthly usage invoice. The fee differs based on your venue’s country and billing currency.

This guide walks through the features that send text/SMS messages to your guests and also includes a handy table you can use to look up the text/SMS fees in your region.

Features that contribute to text/SMS usage fees

Currently, there are three features in the ROLLER platform that contribute to the text/SMS usage fees you may see on your invoice. These have been outlined below.

Payment links

Make taking payments easier and safer for your venue and guests. When guests call to make a booking, take payment using payment request links from Venue Manager.

These payment links can be sent via text/SMS or email from Venue Manager. When payment links are sent via text/SMS, they will incur a fee. Payment links can also be resent multiple times, each time contributing to usage.

Booking agreements

Booking agreements require your guests to read and accept terms and conditions digitally before purchasing and redeeming recurring payment memberships.

These can be sent via SMS or email from POS, and when sent via SMS will incur a fee.

Online accounts

Give your guests a convenient and personalized way to manage and redeem their passes, memberships and gift cards, by enabling online accounts in your progressive checkouts.

Guests with an online account can choose to log in using a one time code sent via text/SMS to their phone. Each time a guest logs in to their account using a code sent to their phone, your venue will incur a fee.

Waiver requests

Our integrated digital waivers allow guests to sign before they arrive, reducing queues and eliminating manual paperwork. You can easily see which guests have signed in advance and follow up with those who haven't, making ticket redemption quick and efficient.

Waivers can be sent to guests via text/SMS to their phone, and you can do this from Venue Manager, POS or the MCI app.

Text/SMS fees by country

Text/SMS messages that are longer than 160 characters incur separate fees per 160 characters.
