Product categories group similar products together. They're different from reporting categories, which are used for financial tracking.
Product categories are completely different to your reporting categories.
Product categories let you:
Find products when creating new bookings in Venue Manager.
Filter products using the daily capacity, calendar and run sheet views in Venue Manager.
Product categories and tags can both be used to group products in your checkout. For ongoing checkout management, we recommend using product tags.
The permission Can manage product categories is required for staff members to create, edit and delete product categories. Administrator and manager system roles automatically have this permission enabled and any custom roles based on these roles.
Create a new product category
From Venue Manager, go to Products > Categories:
Select Create category.
The category panel appears.
Enter the category name.
Search for and select the products for the category.
Select Save.
Add a new product to an existing category
From Venue Manager, go to Products > Categories:
Select the existing category you want to add a new product to.
The category panel appears.
Search for and add the product.
Select Save.
Remove a product from an existing category
From Venue Manager, go to Products > Categories:
Select the existing category you want to delete a product from.
The category panel appears.
Select the trash can icon next to a product to remove the category.
Select Save.
Delete a product
From Venue Manager, go to Products > Categories:
Select the options menu (3 dots) for the category you want to delete.
Select Delete from the drop-down.
Select Save.
