Redeem memberships at POS

Redeem a member's membership at POS and their discounts land on the sale automatically, with nothing to look up or work out. Redeem a family's related memberships or a group's unrelated ones in the same transaction, so four people go through the counter as one sale.

Redeem one membership at POS

Follow the steps below for the fastest way to redeem a membership at the start of a sale.

If  your venue runs a membership program, always ask the guest whether they're a member at the start of the sale. If the member booked online with their membership discount, POS can ask you to check their photo when you open the booking.

  1. From POS, select Redeem membership at the top of the cart on the right.

Where a membership has already been added to the transaction, the button reads Redeem another membership.

  2. Search for the member's name or membership ID, then choose them from the list. Choosing a member from the results shows the membership they hold.

The member appears in the cart panel.

  3. Select Redeem membership at the bottom of the cart.

  4. Add items to the cart. ROLLER automatically applies the membership discounts to the eligible items in the cart.

Each discounted item carries an Item discount line, and the totals carry a Discount line.

Where no discount appears, the member may have already used their benefits, or the item may not be eligible.

Where a parent signs their children up for memberships, ROLLER links them. You can add any of the linked members to the same booking without searching for them separately.

  1. From POS, select Redeem membership at the top of the cart. Where a membership has already been added to the transaction, the button reads Redeem another membership.

  2. Search for the parent's name, email or membership number, then choose them from the list.

  3. Under Add related memberships, select the add icon (+) beside each related member you want to include. Related members appear under the first member you selected.

  4. Select Redeem memberships (#). The number in brackets matches how many memberships you're redeeming.

  5. Add items to the cart. Any membership discounts are automatically applied.

Redeem multiple separate memberships

When a group arrives at the counter, with each guest holding their own membership and none of them are linked, you can still redeem them all in one sale.

  1. From POS, select Redeem membership at the top of the cart.

  2. Search for the first member's name, email or membership number, then choose them from the list.

  3. Search again for each additional member and choose them from the list. Members you've added stay listed in the panel. Select the remove icon (–) beside one to take it off.

  4. Select Redeem memberships (#) at the bottom of the cart.

  5. Add eligible items to the cart, and the membership benefits automatically discount them.

Complete the sale

Take payment once the membership benefits have been applied to the cart. See Sell items and redeem discounts and memberships at POS.

Look up a member's details outside a sale

Sometimes you need to look up a member to check their profile, membership type and remaining uses.

  1. From POS, select the search icon in the left menu.

  2. Select the Members tab. The Members tab searches memberships rather than bookings.

  3. Enter the member's name or membership ID, then select them from the results.

  4. The member’s details appear.

You can also use Advanced search by selecting the globe icon next to the search box. To learn more about how to view a member’s profile and benefits, see Check member benefits at POS.

FAQs

How are membership redemptions counted?

A membership counts as one redemption per member per day, however many discounted items they buy. For example, using a membership for a session pass and a stock item in the same visit is still one redemption, but may use two membership benefits. The Membership Redemptions report counts membership-discounted bookings.

The discount hasn't applied. What now?

Check the cart panel for an Item discount line against the item. Where there isn't one, the member may have already used their benefits, or the item may not be eligible for their membership.

Can I redeem a membership after I've added items to the cart?

Yes. Redeeming works before or after you add items, though redeeming first is faster.

Do I need to attach a waiver?

Where the activity requires one, assign the member's waiver agreement to the booking before you take payment. See Redeem tickets and assign waivers at POS.

How do I check a member’s remaining benefits?

Search for the member via the Members tab, open their profile, then go to Benefits. See Check member benefits at POS.
