Questions
- Why is the deposit amount charged at online checkout higher than the value set in the party package product settings?
- Why are selected add-ons (stock items) included as part of the deposit during online checkout?
How booking deposits work
When guests book a party package online, any recommended add-ons they select (eg food, cashless cards, other additional items) are included in the total deposit due at checkout.
Example
- A guest books a party package priced at $320.
- The venue requires a 50% deposit, which equals $160 (set in party package product settings).
- The guest also selects 2 recommended add-ons totaling $40.
- At checkout, the guest is required to pay a deposit that totals:
$160 (deposit) + $40 (add-ons) = $200 total upfront deposit (plus any applicable fees)
At this time, there’s no way to exclude add-ons from the total deposit required at online checkout. Any selected add-ons must be paid in full at the time of booking.
