Problem
If your venue caters to guests from different regions or language backgrounds, offering online checkouts in multiple languages can help improve accessibility and create a smoother booking experience.
With progressive checkouts, it's easy to localize the interface by updating the language code in the URL — no separate setup required.
It’s important to note that this update only changes the interface language — things like button labels, prompts and navigation text. It does not translate your product names. Product names are managed separately in your Venue Manager product settings and will appear the same regardless of the checkout language.
Solution
You can change the language of an online checkout by editing the url and replacing the “en” (or current language code) with a new language code. Currently supported languages include:
- en: English
- de: German
- nl: Dutch
- da: Danish
- fr: French
Updating the language code changes the text on the webpage to the chosen language.
Create a URL for an online checkout in a different language
- From Venue Manager, go to Apps > Progressive checkouts > All checkouts.
- Open the URL of the progressive checkout you want translated into a different language.
- In the address bar, replace the current two letter language code with a new language code. For example, replace “en” for English with “de” for German.
- Copy the URL with the new language code. This URL can then be embedded into your website, used in emails, featured in promotional materials and more.
