Test your hardware before launching ROLLER POS

Make sure ROLLER POS is set up correctly when you're using ROLLER Connect to manage printing at your venue.

If your venue is using cloud printing, refer to the guide Get started with cloud printing.

Prior to testing, you need to make sure you have followed all steps in prepare and check your hardware.

Test ROLLER Connect

Check ROLLER Connect is running on each POS device.

Yes, ROLLER Connect is running 

No, if ROLLER Connect is not running please see below for troubleshooting steps:

  1. Ensure you have followed all the steps 100% correctly in our guide to installing ROLLER Connect

  2. Try restarting ROLLER Connect if using ROLLER Connect Legacy

  3. Try turning your POS device off & on again​​

If you've successfully followed all steps above and you're still having problems please log a support ticket.

Check "use ROLLER Print service" is enabled 

Make sure "use ROLLER Print service" is enabled on each POS device.

Test receipt printing

Test printing a receipt via ROLLER POS on each POS device

Test cash drawer popping

Test your cash drawer is popping whenever a receipt prints.

How to test:

Follow the steps in the guide Configure POS to print receipts (ROLLER Connect) to test receipt printing in ROLLER POS & the cash drawer should pop automatically when a receipt prints.

No, I’m using a key to open my cash drawer

Test barcode scanning

Test your 2D barcode scanner is working (if applicable).

How to test: 

  1. In Playground purchase a ticket using your email address so you receive the confirmation email.

  2. Open Playground POS to try scanning the ticket in the booking search field.

Yes, my 2D barcode scanner is scanning ROLLER tickets correctly & the booking is appearing in POS

No, if your 2D barcode scanner is unable to scan ROLLER tickets please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Double check your barcode scanner model supports 2D barcode scanning 

  2. Check it’s correctly connected to your POS station via USB

  3. Try unplugging the scanner & plugging it back in

  4. Open up Notepad & attempt to scan ROLLER ticket into Notepad

If you've successfully scanned the ticket into Notepad and you're still having problems scanning, contact the support team.

If you can't scan into Notepad, there may be an issue with the scanner itself.
