Should I add a tax rate to a new gift card, cashless card or wallet product type?
Solution
No, you don’t need to add a tax rate to a new gift card, cashless card and wallet product.
So long as you have a 0% tax rate set up, when you create a new gift card product in Venue Manager, ROLLER automatically applies the 0% tax rate to gift cards (cashless cards and wallets too).
This prevents double taxation, making sure tax is only applied when gift cards, cashless cards or wallets are redeemed (used) for a purchase, not when it is initially bought.
If needed, you can override the 0% tax rate by selecting a different tax rate under Tax override in Additional options on the product setup page.
