Introduction
You can apply a discount to the first month of a recurring membership. This can make it easier for new members to get started and may help increase sign-ups. It's also a useful option if you're running a promotion or testing different pricing strategies.
Solution
To offer a discount on the first month of a recurring membership, you’ll need to create a fixed amount discount code in Venue Manager. Percentage-based and multi-use discounts (like 2-for-1) aren’t supported for recurring plans.
The discount will only apply to the first month of the membership. Ongoing discounts for future payments aren’t available at this time.
Once your code is set up, you can share it with guests, include it in marketing, or link it directly in your checkout URL.
Follow the steps below to create your first-month discount.
Create a discount for a recurring membership
- From Venue Manager, go to Products > Discount codes > Create a discount code.
- Give your discount code a name to identify it in ROLLER.
- Under Discount type, select Fixed amount
- Select Manually enter codes, and enter a discount code e.g. 50%OFF
- Provide Redemption instructions for the discount code e.g. Enter the code to get 50% off your first month—applies to recurring memberships only.
- Enter the Value of the discount. This is how much you’re offering off the regular price.
- Select the recurring membership in the Products dropdown.
- Set the Usage and restrictions settings.
- Select Save.
